Balloon Sinuplasty

Suffering from recurring sinus infections? Balloon Sinuplasty can help treat the cause.

Healthy sinuses are empty chambers in the face and forehead that act as natural shock absorbers in the case of trauma; however, these chambers are susceptible to inflammation and infection that can be severe enough to cause chronic problems. Inflammation of the sinuses, called sinusitis, has many potential causes, and can be very uncomfortable. Using our Carestream CS 93000 Sinus CT Scanner right here in our office, we can diagnose your sinus issues conveniently without you needing to go to a hospital imaging center.

Causes of sinusitis:
Bacterial or viral infections, allergies, immune system problems, nasal polyps, and other structural abnormalities are all causes of sinusitis.

Symptoms of sinusitis:
Symptoms include nasal blockage, headaches, facial or tooth pain, drainage from the nose or down the back of the throat, and problems with smell and taste. A chronic cough can also develop, particularly in children.

What to Expect

Balloon Sinuplasty is a simple in-office treatment performed with topical anesthesia. Dr. Davis places a small balloon through the nose and into the narrowed sinus drainage pathways. He then inflates the balloon, widening blocked areas. The balloon is then removed and the remaining sinuses are treated during the same visit.

We provide you with medication for any discomfort once you are home, and recovery time is significantly reduced compared with traditional sinus surgery.
