Dizziness
Learn About the Different Kinds of Dizziness
There are three general kinds of dizziness: lightheadedness, imbalance, and vertigo. Vertigo is a kind of spinning sensation or a sensation that your head is being dragged through space. One of the main causes of vertigo is a problem with the inner ear balance centers. Problems that can affect the inner ear balance centers and cause vertigo include benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), labyrinthitis, and Meniere’s Disease. At your consultation you will undergo a comprehensive exam and we’ll walk you through your treatment options. Remember, when we consult with you, we provide you with a treatment plan that’s specifically tailored to your unique needs. Dizziness can be frustrating and we will work closely with you until the problem resolves.
MAKE AN APPOINTMENTTreatment Options for Dizziness
When you come in for your appointment, we’ll have you undergo some tests so that we can get to the bottom of why you may be experiencing dizziness. One of these tests is performed by the audiologists who partner with us in our office from American Hearing and Balance. This non-invasive test, called a VNG, helps pinpoint the source of the problem. No matter the root cause, we’ll consult with you about your treatment options to make sure that you get the one that best fits your needs. Dizziness can be difficult to live with, so if you are experiencing it, let us know right away so we can evaluate you.
